about
"Cygnus" is a one-off single by Glaswegian post-genre artist Graham Costello, with his band STRATA.
Described by The Times as “thrilling” and Jazzwise as “ones to watch”, Graham and the group have gained acclaim in Scotland and abroad through their innovative blend of jazz, progressive rock, and minimalism.
His first release of 2020 is Cygnus, a 10 minute aural assault which builds into a polyrhythmic eruption of heady guitar lines and Zeppelin horn blasts, underscored throughout by head-spinning drum patterns.
Graham Costello is a composer, arranger, and masterful drummer, who, alongside leading STRATA, powers the drums behind rising Scottish collective corto.alto and doom-jazz trio AKU. Graham’s hard-working, DIY approach to music-making has helped put Glasgow’s buzzing, independent music scene on the map.
